The Chatham Suburban Club Golf Society was founded in 2008 and from the beginning was a great success. We play 7 times per year, starting in April, with the last game being played in October.
At present, we have approximately 30 members and we are always looking for new golfers to join the society. The format for the games is Stableford, with a longest drive and nearest to the pin competition included in the round. Every monthly winner receives a prize, as do the winners of the longest drive and nearest to the pin competitions. Running alongside the monthly competition we also run a match play knockout competition.
At the end of the year, usually in late November/early December, we hold a prize giving dinner and dance. This is held in the main hall of the Club. During the evening the Champion Golfer for the year receives a trophy, as does the winner of the match play competition. Their names are also added to the trophy's that are kept in the cabinet in the back bar.
